MP3 player in a can

(Credit: Global Sources)

We thought those tin can speakers from Sprint's Boost Mobile were just some silly joke items when they came out last fall, but now we're not so sure if there's a larger trend at work.

Why? It turns out there's a media player shaped like a soda can too.

This MP3 can from China-based Neux has an OLED screen, FM radio, built-in microphone, and storage ranging from 128MB to 4GB, according to PMP Today.

It comes in red an blue red, which raises an obvious question: Why didn't Coke or Pepsi do this first?
