How Do I Rent A Movie?

You can rent movies from iTunes and watch them with your Mac or Windows computer, iPhone, or video-enabled iPod (iPod touch, iPod nano (3rd generation), or iPod classic), or on your TV using your Apple TV. Browse the iTunes Store and look for movies with a Rent button, or check our Top Rentals charts to find top sellers. Once you click Rent, your movie will begin to download immediately. Which Version Of ITunes Is Required To Rent Movies?

Use iTunes 7.6 or later to make sure your iPod or iPhone has the most recent software updates.

How Long Do I Have To Watch A Rented Movie?

You have 30 days to watch your movie, and 24-hours to finish viewing the movie from the moment you start playing the movie. Once the rental period expires, the movie will disappear from your iTunes library. See "iTunes Store movie rental usage rights" for more information.

Where Can I Watch My Rental?

If rented on the computer, you can watch your rental on that computer, or transfer it to your iPhone, iPod touch, iPod classic, or iPod nano (3rd generation), or on your TV using your Apple TV.

How Many Times Can I View The Movie?

Once you start watching your movie, you can view the rented movie as many times as you wish within the 24-hour period.

Can I Use My ITunes Store Credit To Rent?

Yes, you can use your iTunes Store credit to rent movies or to purchase movies, music, TV shows, or audiobooks.

How Long Will My Movie Take To Download?

The download time depends on the speed of your Internet connection. Check this document for an estimate of download times.

Will Rented Movies Have Closed Captioning Or Chaptering?

Most movies will have chapters and movies that feature closed captioning will have the closed captioning graphic () on the movie page.

Can I Delete A Rented Movie Before The Expiration Date?

You can delete the movie prior to the expiration date if you want to make more space on your hard drive, iPod or iPhone. The movie will automatically disappear from your iTunes library or device 24-hours after you've begun viewing it.

Can I Play My Rental On More Than One Device?

If you download a rented movie on your computer, you can transfer it to your Apple TV, iPod, or iPhone. Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only be viewed on one device at a time. If you rent the movie on your Apple TV, it is not transferable to any other device and you must watch it on your Apple TV.

What Happens To My Rented Movie If Don\'t Watch It?

If you don't watch your rented movie, it will expire in 30 days and disappear from your iTunes library. You will need to rent it again in order to watch it.

Are Rented Movies Available In HD?
